Gig Finder-Discover live Music Events Based On Your Location & Music Tastes

Nokia beta labs has released an amazing application called Gig Finder, which can be used to discover live music events based on our location and interest. With this Gig Finder we can search concerts/ live music entertainment and purchase tickets directly from our mobile. It can also suggest or recommend some list based on the query posed. But the Gig Finder support is limited to USA, Canada, UK and Ireland.

- Easy Search. Quickly find where to find the best concerts & other music events near you. Search by artist, genre, city, venue, specific date, date range or a combination of any.
- Buy Tickets. Direct links connect your mobile to various ticket vendors to conveniently find the best seats & prices
- Smart Recommendations. Get recommendations for live events and venues based on your music tastes (profile & on device music library) and location
- Get Directions. See where the event is and how to get there with a direct link from Maps.
- Start the Buzz. Share information about the gig to Facebook, SMS, or Email.
- Download Music. Events link directly to the artist pages in Nokia Music Store / Ovi Music (when available in your country) so you can preview or download music before or after seeing your favourite artists live.

Works with Nokia devices based on S60 5th Edition: Nokia N97, N97 mini, X6, 5800, 5530 & 5230.
Connectivity is from your default Internet access point. If you are unable to connect, check your Internet access point and priorities. (SETTINGS>CONNECTIVITY>DESTINATIONS>INTERNET).
Getting Started: -
1. Download & Install Gig Finder to your compatible Nokia device (Symbian 5.x (Touch))
2. Open Gig Finder (Usually installed to APPLICATIONS folder) to start using.
How to Search: -
1. Click the SEARCH icon
2. Type in your search criteria:
a) WHAT (Artist/ Genre): Note that only artists currently playing in US, Canada, UK, & Ireland will appear. Leave blank if you want to see more results from Where (City/ Venue) search.
b) WHERE (City/ Venue): Type in the city or venue you want to see. Leave blank if you want to see more results of What (Artist/Genre) search.
c) WHEN (Date/ Dates): Slide the calendar to the date you want to search for. If you want to search a date range, touch the starting day then scroll to the ending day. Dates in a range will be highlighted. Leave blank if you want to see more resulsts for What and/or Where searches.
